The Gutter Truth: You are the freelancer, the pragmatist, the true neutral in a world of fanatics. You’ve seen the promises of the cults and the chrome-addled tribes and decided they’re all just different flavors of cages. Your loyalty is to yourself, your crew, and your next meal. You are defined not by an ideology, but by the simple, brutal fact that you are still breathing .

The Look: Your look is your resume, a walking collage of your past jobs. There’s no unifying theme, just pure, eclectic practicality. A scavenged Aurora Industries security vest over a worn synth-leather jacket, a pair of Waz Tech combat boots, pants with patched-up burn holes from a firefight last week . Your chrome is a mix of reliable, off-the-shelf parts—nothing flashy, just the workhorse gear that keeps you in the fight . You look like you’re ready for anything because you have to be.

The Deal: You are the jack-of-all-trades, master of none. You have no glaring weaknesses but no game-changing strengths either. The “Encounters” system will see you as a generalist, offering a wide mix of missions: simple cargo runs, a bit of muscle for a crew, scavenging on the edge of the wastes. You are the reliable, deniable freelancer, and your path is your own.


// THE SANGUINE

The Gutter Truth: You stared into the abyss of the Amber Blight’s final transformation and found a terrible loophole. By consuming the corrupted flesh of the wastes—or the blood of the living—you metabolize the taint, holding the change at bay . You are a high-functioning predator, walking the razor’s edge between human and monster.

The Look: Predatory elegance. You favor dark, tailored, functional clothing that doesn’t restrict movement—a stark, clean contrast to the messy reality of your survival . Your silhouette is sharp, minimalist, and coiled with a still energy that makes people uneasy. You look like a hunter in a room full of cattle.

The Deal: Your path grants you high resistance to the physical effects of the Blight, but it comes at a price: you must consume specific biological matter regularly or suffer the consequences. Your jobs come from the shadows: shady biotech researchers, black-market organ traders, and even Zenith itself for deniable “field sample collection.” You are the ultimate hunter, and your missions revolve around acquiring rare and dangerous biological assets .


// THE ASCENDED

The Gutter Truth: You have heard the Whispers of the Rift, and you believe it is not a wound, but a voice. You are a member of a Rift Cult, seeing the Amber Blight as a sacrament and the monstrous transformation of your flesh as ascension . You seek to become something more than human.

The Look: You are a living canvas for biomechanical art, a site of constant, ritualistic modification. Your look is a heretical fusion of the organic and the artificial. You integrate pieces of polished Riftspawn chitin alongside your chrome, display glowing, geometric patterns on your skin, and adorn yourself with strange artifacts recovered from the Wastes.

The Deal: Your faith grants you a high resistance to the psychic effects of the Blight and the Whispers, but your physical form is inherently unstable. Your missions are holy quests from your cult’s leaders or cryptic visions in the Static: pilgrimages into high-Blight zones, retrieving sacred artifacts, or hunting a powerful Riftspawn to “receive its wisdom” .


// THE MNEMONIC

The Gutter Truth: You are an information addict in a world built on lies. You believe that history and memory are the only real currency . Using specialized neuralware, you hunt, capture, and trade in “Echoes”—the last moments of the dead—and Data-Shards, the lost history of the old world.

The Look: Your appearance is practical, understated, and meant to be forgettable. A long coat with hidden pockets for data-slates and tech is your uniform. You blend into the crowd, always observing. The only flair is the visible, high-end neural interface ports at your temple or the back of your neck, a clear sign of your trade. Your eyes have a distant look, as if you’re watching another time.

The Deal: You are a master of hacking and data retrieval, able to access terminals and lore that are locked to others . You turn information into a weapon. Your jobs come from Corpos, fixers, and spies. You are hired for data-heists, blackmail, corporate espionage, and to hunt for specific, valuable Echoes .


// THE NEKO

The Gutter Truth: You belong to an aesthetic tribe that has rejected the numbness of the world. You believe survival comes through superior awareness. By augmenting your body with feline-inspired cybernetics, you have heightened your senses to a predatory degree, moving through the urban jungle with a grace that baseline humans have lost.

The Look: Sleek, agile, and expressive. Your style is a mix of high street fashion and functional athletic wear that allows for fluid movement. The feline modifications are the centerpiece—cybernetic ears that twitch at the slightest sound, glowing ocular implants for low-light vision, and perhaps a gyroscopic tail for balance. Your look is a statement of heightened perception.

The Deal: Your augmentations give you a significant edge in stealth, perception, and evasion. You spot traps, hear ambushes, and can outmaneuver stronger opponents. However, your heightened senses make you more susceptible to the sensory overload of Warp Zones and the intensity of the Whispers. Your jobs come from information brokers and security firms; you are hired for reconnaissance, infiltration, and high-speed courier work. You are the eyes and ears of the crew .
