FIXER’S COMMUNIQUE. WHAT YOUR CLOTHES SAY BEFORE YOU DO

Your look is read before your name is, and the street reads everyone the same way, same order. Boots first, where you’ve been. Hands second, what you do. Chrome third, what you’ve survived, and mismatched chrome reads as a career while a matched set reads as a showroom. Face last, faces lie. One new item on a worn body is a payday. A whole new everything is a mark. Dress so everything on you has a reason you could say out loud, and one thing has a reason you won’t.

Two climates, two rulebooks. Inside the Grid’s reach the cold is bearable, so clothing is speech, layers, waterproof everything, boots that trust a rusty ladder, and as much statement as your standing can defend. Past the gate, survival is the only aesthetic, sealed seams outrank every opinion, and the one glamour that works out there is competence, which is why nothing reads harder in a Sputnik bar than someone dressed for the country that kills everyone else.

Now the wardrobe, class by class, because luxury exists at every altitude and what luxury means is the tell. RUNNER, scrappy and versatile at street level, everything earns its place, pockets that work, layers that move, and at the high end the look goes clean-lined chrome aesthetic, machined edges, matte hardware, wealth stated as precision. NEKO, the punk wing of the wardrobe, augments worn as jewelry, ears and tail as the signature, the whole look built to be seen moving fast at height. VAULTED, couture out of comfort, the pharaohs of this age, gold-traced collars, pressed lines, fabrics no Waste wind has ever touched, beautiful and helpless past the walls and dressed like they know it. SANGUINE, old aristocracy on new time, pale, hairless, faintly pointed, dressed in stillness, a portrait that stopped aging and knows you noticed. OUTLANDER, salvage armor and liquidator gear worn honest, every strap load-bearing, and its own brutal glamour, because the outfit is a resume nobody can fake.

The reads that matter in play. A CA surplus vest with the patch torn off says something specific, and so does wearing it anyway. Clan leathers inside the walls say the wearer expects to leave again. A worn creed says everything its chapter says. And the one universal law, the street forgives poverty and punishes pretense, a cheap coat honestly worn buys more standing than borrowed couture read as borrowed, which it always is.
