Your Origin is the hand you were dealt. Your Creed is the answer you chose to the one question this world asks everyone, there’s a thing in the static, growing closer, and it wants in. What are you going to do about it?
Five answers have hardened into cultures. Understand first that most of the city hasn’t chosen. The unmarked majority keeps its head down and hopes, and that’s why a Creed worn openly is legible from across a street, it’s rare, it’s a statement, and it tells everyone how you intend to survive. The street calls a worn Creed a scar, because from the outside that’s exactly what it looks like.
Same shape for each, what you believe, what it buys you, what it costs you as trouble, and one crossing worth stealing.
THE SURVIVOR. The hardest answer, which is no answer, no doctrine, no house, no tribe to shelter you, no god to explain the whispers. Just judgment and endurance, alone.

Buys you, freedom. No vows, no debts to a faith, no chrome you’re obligated to buy from your own tribe. You owe nothing and answer to no creed.
Costs you, nobody catches you when you fall, and when the whispers get loud there’s no house to carry you and no doctrine to name the sound.
THE SANGUINE. You found the loophole. The amber will take everyone eventually, but you learned that consuming the crystal itself holds the change at bay. You metabolize what converts everyone else, and it preserves you instead.

Buys you, time, and control of it, and a predator’s stillness the whole city can feel and few can name.
Costs you, the hunger never ends, and the good relief is the illegal kind. raw crystal is the need; refined crystal, cut and dosed by a Salon’s own hands, is the luxury, cleaner and steadier and jealously controlled, so the Salons forbid freelancing and the trade runs through brokers. Source wrong and you weaken; source outside the Salons and you’re one witness from being hunted yourself.
Crossing, a VAULTED Sanguine is a fallen aristocrat with a hunger their breeding never budgeted for.
THE ASCENDED. You heard the Whispers and didn’t flee them. You believe the amber isn’t a wound but a voice, the conversion not a disease but an ascension, and you wear your corruption forward, with pride.

Buys you, belonging, certainty, and a relationship with the amber that unnerves everyone who deals with you.
Costs you, you’re converting, on purpose, and it doesn’t pause for your convenience. The Clean won’t touch you, half the city won’t seat you, and the further you walk the less of you comes back from each Bloom.
Crossing, a SYNTHETIC Ascended heard a voice meant for flesh and answered anyway, and nobody, least of all the Ascendancy, agrees on what that makes it.
THE MNEMONIC. You decided that in a city built on lies, memory is the only currency that can’t be counterfeited. You hunt, hold, and trade Echoes and shards, and you attend deaths for the cleanest reads there are.

Buys you, knowledge as leverage, a neutral coat everyone needs and nobody suspects, and access to the one trade that touches every other.
Costs you, you carry other people’s moments in your own head, and too many blurs which screams started as yours. The deeper you read, the more you notice the reads getting easier, and the more you understand why that should frighten you.
Crossing, an OUTLANDER Mnemonic reads the ice’s dead for clans who won’t let a city rig near their people.
THE NEKO. You chose awareness as your armor. Rejecting the numbness the world sells, you tuned your senses past baseline with feline-pattern augments so that nothing in a whispering world ever arrives unannounced. Where the Clean scour the amber out and the Ascended let it in, you chose to simply always hear it coming.

Buys you, perception nobody can sneak past, reflexes the city can’t match, and an early-warning system for a world that specializes in the ambush.
Costs you, you hear everything, including the Static’s edges, always, with no volume knob. The awareness that keeps you alive also means you never get the mercy of not noticing, and the tribe’s aesthetic marks you as clearly as any cult’s.
Crossing, a RUNNER Neko is the city’s perfect courier, ears and tail bought for balance at height, working gear that became a flag. A VAULTED Neko bought the same augments as couture and wears them better than anyone honest.
The crossings are where the intrigue lives. Four Origins, five Creeds, and the unmarked state make thirty and more distinct people, and the sparks are in the collisions the city hasn’t seen before. A Vaulted who runs product to feel alive. An Outlander Ascended who came in from the cold specifically to convert where the amber is strongest. A Synthetic Survivor with no tribe, no faith, and no warm body to lose, holding the line on judgment alone. Pick the pairing that unsettles you a little. That discomfort is the character.
[REFERENCE ENDS. NOW WEAR IT WHERE THEY CAN SEE.]
The quick sheet. Same format, edge, cost, a scene for tonight.
SURVIVOR. Edge, owes nothing, owns every choice, and the quiet authority of never taking a door out. Cost, nobody catches you. Scene, both faiths make you the same pitch in the same week, and you say no twice.
ASCENDED. Edge, controlled amber, clarity, senses, a ladder the whole city can read. Cost, the mind bends the way the faith bends it, and the ladder only goes one direction. Scene, your First Cracks show at a counter and a stranger congratulates you like it’s a promotion, because to half the room it is.
SANGUINE. Edge, longevity, strength, senses tuned to the far side, decades of leverage. Cost, the need runs on a schedule, the Salons own your supply, and your face can’t hide what you are. Scene, someone at the table is older than the district and remembers when your street had a different name, and it’s you.
MNEMONIC. Edge, you read objects, information is income, and nobody can counterfeit what you sell. Cost, you carry strangers’ grief home, and every deep read is exposure. Scene, a client hands you a wedding ring and you have to decide whether to tell them what’s actually on it.
NEKO. Edge, balance, height, and awareness as armor, you cannot be ambushed in your own city. Cost, the augments need upkeep, the tribe is visible, and fools read you as decoration until the moment they learn better. Scene, you heard both of them on the stairs a full minute ago, so when the door opens you’re already facing it.
