Everwinter is a roleplay world. You play a person living in the last human city, and you write their story with everyone else living theirs. You do not need experience. You do not need to have read the lore. You need about five minutes and a willingness to say hello.
One. Pick a door. Four kinds of people arrive here. The Vaulted woke from a corporate pod with money and no idea how the street works. The Runner was born in the city and knows every angle of it. The Outlander came in from the frozen country outside the walls, hard and unimpressed. The Synthetic is a machine that became a person. Pick the one that sounds like someone you want to be. That is your whole character-creation homework for tonight.

Two. Show up somewhere. Walk into the Last Bowl, or any lit counter, and order something. Sit down. Someone will talk to you. That is a scene. You are now roleplaying.
Three. The only three rules that matter on night one. Consent governs everything, nothing happens to your character that you did not agree to. What your character knows and what you know are different things, do not act on information your person would not have. And losing is content, catching a citation, losing a fight, getting your heart broken, these are the story working, not you failing.
And the one nobody tells you. Watching is playing. Sitting at the counter saying nothing, listening, getting a feel for how people talk, that is a completely legitimate first night. Nobody will quiz you. Nobody is grading you. You belong here the moment you show up.
Everything else, the creeds, the combat rules, the deep lore, you can learn by playing, or read when you are curious. This page is the whole barrier. You are over it.
